Sample Management Special Interest Group
Mission Statement

The Sample Management special interest group provides a forum for discussing sample library management issues in the modern drug discovery HTS laboratory. Sample libraries include discrete compounds, defined compound mixtures, and natural product extracts. Topics of critical importance include:
  • Sample Collection Issues:
Sample acquisition, structural diversity, physical storage, physical manipulation, sample purity and stability.
  • Materials Management Issues:
Logistics, information technology, customer support, quality control, and systems integration.
  • Instrumentation and Laboratory Automation Issues:
Sample preparation, sample retrieval, screening set creation, nano-scale technologies, and analytical methodologies.

Active contributors include society members from both academic and industrial laboratories.
