We present a fluorescence readout system for ultra-sensitive high-throughput scanning. The system is based on a technology that for the first time allows scanning of square centimeter areas with single molecule sensitivity and diffraction limited resolution within minutes. The novel detection technology can be applied to ultra-sensitive live cell screening, slide based cytometry, microarray readout and readout of bead-assays. The ultra-sensitivity will allow for revealing information not accessible with currently available detection strategies.
