Phosphorescent Label Technology developed by Luxcel Biosciences employs longwave long-decay platinum(II)- and palladium(II)-coproporphyrin labels (MeCP) and time-resolved fluorescence detection (TR-F). A range of labeling chemistries, generic bioreagents and common bioaffinity assays have been developed and validated, including solid-phase immuno and whole cell based assays (ELISA-type); homogeneous assays for proteases (e.g. caspase-3); respirometric cell, enzyme and whole organism based assays; hybridization assays including post-PCR DNA detection in gels, gene arrays, real-time PCR; TR-F imaging microscopy. A low-cost multi-functional 532nm laser-based TR-F plate reader optimized for MeCP labels and sealable low-volume 96-well plates developed by Luxcel further enhance the performance of these labels and bioassays. They provide straightforward assay miniaturization, multiplexing and cost savings. Luxcel Label Technology allows easy integration into existing screening platforms (particularly those with TR-F capabilities), and processes without any major modifications. A number of leading pharma companies have already adopted this technology for R&D and screening programs.
