Due to the low DMSO tolerance of most assays and few affordable nanoliter liquid dispensers, many laboratories are required to make intermediate solutions in aqueous buffer. This may result in compound precipitation prior to compound dispensing into the assay plate. To circumvent this problem, we evaluated 100nL compound transfer using the Biomek FX 96 and 384-head compatible PocketTips™. Reproducibility, precision and accuracy will be presented using fluorescence dyes and a panel of test compounds. Results from 2 enzymatic assays will be shown and the issue of 'sticky' hydrophobic compounds will be discussed. |
