Drug Discovery: From Targets to Candidates
September 11-15, 2005 Geneva, Switzerland
    Conference Home - Welcome!

From Targets to Candidates

High-throughput technologies have matured and are now being applied to the entire chain of drug discovery, far upstream and down stream of conventional high-throughput screening. Modern drug hunters use a combination of automated and standardized processes for target validation up through the characterization of clinical candidates. But, do these techniques guarantee success? We invite you to come and find out at this year’s SBS conference. Discover how creativity and originality combined with high-throughput can produce quantum leaps in efficiency.

SBS conferences encompass all aspects of drug discovery where high-throughput principles may be applied. The meeting this year, in Geneva, will devote individual sessions to various target classes to spark discussion of specialized technical and philosophical approaches. Cell-based assays are becoming increasingly important in early drug discovery, highlighting the need for industrialization of cell production and delivery.

Rounding out the program is a session on biomarkers, which will help to predict therapeutic responses, shorten clinical development times, and lead to increased efficiencies in pre-clinical development and current methods of drug discovery.

The SBS annual conference is renowned for addressing leading-edge topics to keep industry and academia better informed and prepared to meet future challenges. On behalf of the conference committee and session chairs, we invite you to experience four days of exciting technologies, thoughts and discussions in the heart of Europe.

Geneva, also known as the BioAlps, is at the epicenter of excellence for European biotechnology, biomedical research and bioinformatics (Science Magazine, USA). We look forward to welcoming you to this magnificent city nestled between shimmering waters and scenic mountains!
