Established in 2004, the Harvard Stem Cell Institute (HSCI) is a scientific collaborative established to
investigate the complex biological and therapeutic aspects of stem cells while exploring the broad societal
implications of this new science. By harnessing the extraordinary depth and breadth of scientific expertise
based in the 11 Harvard-affiliated hospitals and research centers within its geographic locale, HSCI
nurtures
and compels a research community which is truly greater than the sum of its parts.
