Poster Authors: Check it off Your List Today
The SBS poster abstract submission deadline is right around the corner. Submit your abstract no later than March 3, 2008 for inclusion in the new SBS publication, SBS Gateway to Knowledge-A Poster Guide. This guide will include poster titles and abstracts, as well as a detailed layout of the exhibition hall with references to poster session locations. It will be given to each attendee at the 14th Annual Conference & Exhibition.  Visit the SBS website for more information.

New Ideas Come From Learning!
SBS is proud to present the next in our series of virtual courses, Medicinal Chemistry Concepts for Biologists. This course will be presented in four module web presentations throughout March 2008, as follows:

March 5: Module 1 Introduction to Medicinal Chemistry: It's All About the Molecules
March 12: Module 2 Lead Compounds: The good, The Bad and The Ugly
March 19: Module 3 Compound Optimization, Part 1: You Mean it's More Than Potency?
March 26: Module 4 Compound Optimization, Part 2: Are We There Yet?

Who can benefit from this course?
This online course should be useful to biologists new to or learning the field of drug discovery, as well as biologists involved in collaborative research with medicinal chemists who will gain a better perspective of their chemistry colleagues approach to drug discovery.

Each module will begin at 11:00 AM EST (North America) and will run approximately 90 to 120 minutes. Register for one module or the whole course of four.

Register today at http://www.sbsonline.org/events/seminars/vs_medchem.php.  SBS members save 25%.

How You Can Help SBS
Every year, SBS members play a central role in the Society's growth and outreach by helping to recruit hundreds of new members.

Recommendations by professional colleagues are still the single most important source of new Society members.  We’ve made it easy for you to share the benefits of membership.  All you need to do is give us the names of those colleagues you feel would be interested in joining the SBS scientific community and benefiting from SBS resources and information.  We’ll do the rest!

Help SBS, your colleagues and yourself. Fill out the member referral form or download the referral form (pdf) for fax back to the SBS office.

In appreciation, for each referral you’ll be entered in a drawing for a $250 American Express gift card. We must receive your referrals by March 15th to be included in the drawing.

Journal of Biomolecular Screening "Call for Papers"
SBS encourages you to submit your scientific findings to the Journal of Biomolecular Screening. See the topics we are seeking to cover and the straightforward submission process by clicking here (pdf) for "Call for Papers" information.

British Pharmacological Society Meeting
Focused Meeting: High-Throughput Pharmacology

An Excellent Opportunity
We are always interested in what our members are doing scientifically and in their personal life. Therefore we regularly spotlight the advances and life experiences that many of you have been involved with in SBS News. If you have an interesting idea, observation, skill, trip or adventure that you would like to tell us about, please send a note to David Roman at droman@sbsonline.org. This is an excellent opportunity for you and your company to gain more exposure in our association.
