Dr. John Printen has significant experience in both drug discovery and the Life Sciences business. Currently he is Business Segment Director, Cell Signaling at Invitrogen, located in Madison, WI. Prior
to this business focused role, Dr. Printen was R&D Director, Invitrogen Drug Discovery Solutions (Madison). In this position, he oversaw the launch of numerous new products for screening,
including LanthaScreen® TR-FRET assays, GeneBLAzer® reporter systems and CellSensor™ Pathway analysis cell lines. Prior to joining Invitrogen in 2003, Dr. Printen held the
position of Associate Director, Enabling Science and Technology, at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, UK (1998-2003). At AstraZeneca, he developed cellular assays for the Metabolic Disease area
and oversaw an R&D group developing high-throughput methods for target identification and validation. Dr. Printen did his post-doctoral training in the Signal Transduction Department,
Parke-Davis (Ann Arbor), after receiving his Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology at the University of Oregon in 1995. Dr. Printen received a MS degree in Microbiology (1990) and a BS in Biochemistry
(1986) from Colorado State University.
